Supply Chain Manager

JOB PURPOSE: 

Accountable for the operational performance of the external supply chain (both direct & indirect) to deliver the required quality, cost and delivery performance across the UK sites. You will define a robust operating procedure to manage the supply base and will lead the integration across the sites, providing direction in the resolution of technical &/or logistical issues and support constructive escalation to achieve timely results.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the effective day to day supplier relationship management and operational performance of suppliers
• Responsible for the global quality and delivery performance of the external supply chain and the resolution of any performance related issues through the enactment of  contractual clauses where appropriate
• Define SMART KPIs to effectively manage the supply chain and implement a robust operational management process to drive improved performance
• Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to continually improve the quality of service delivered by the purchasing and supply chain team
• Lead short / medium term cost improvement plans with strategic suppliers. Understand suppliers manufacturing processes / services and associated cost drivers to support any cost improvement plans
• Support the programme management and execution of sourcing activities, to meet the internal and external stakeholder requirements for current and future programmes
• Support the deployment of category / supplier strategies and provide inputs based on supply chain operational performance
• Support the deployment of supply chain audits and risk management practices to assess, communicate and mitigate supply chain risks
• Create a culture of high performance through effective development and performance management of the UK supply chain team
• Challenge the supply chain team to continually improve key processes and strategies to drive a competitive advantage for Bromford
• Improve logistics and inventory management processes to deliver improved value and performance to the Business

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Significant experience in Purchasing & Supply Chain management in Aerospace & Defence environments
• Ideally MCIPS qualified (or equivalent) or working towards
• Has a proven track record in delivering results
• Experienced in business transformation and implementing new ways of working
• Programme Management experience
• Ability to influence at all levels with appropriate influencing and negotiation skills
• Leadership and people development skills – motivate and support team to meet objectives

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:

• At least 5 years’ experience in Purchasing & Supply Chain, ideally in an operational function and/or manufacturing business
• Supplier Relationship Management experience
• Programme & Project Management experience
Experienced in executing key contractual terms and has a sound understanding of commercial law
