Senior Maintenance Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:  To provide service, breakdown and facilities support for Bromford Birmingham.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead site maintenance team
• Manage all site breakdowns
• Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults
• Diagnosing breakdown problems
• Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working
• Manage all site servicing
• Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
• Create and maintain a Total productive Maintenance (TPM) plan for site
• Designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods
• Manage site plant installations, relocations and decommissions
• Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines
• Mange servicing and repairs of site facilities (air conditioning etc.)
• Maintain site PAT testing schedule
• Manage/lead maintenance SQD board and attend site SQDWPE meetings
• liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues
• Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment
• Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs
• Monitoring and creation of maintenance KPIs
• Undertake all duties safely and in accordance with Company Health & Safety policy and practices
• Improving health and safety policies and procedures
• Maintain site Crimson Reporting
• Manage site contractors and inductions
• Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
• Provide training, support and development to technical staff and apprentices
• To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility

• A high standard of health and safety at work and an ability to apply that knowledge practically
• The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
• City and Guilds qualifications (Electrical & Mechanical)
• 17th Edition City and Guilds
• Time Served or Apprentice trained
• PAT Testing City and Guilds
• Can read and interpret electrical drawings
• Can work on hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience with Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak and Siemens controls systems
